The guild is a non-profit organization and was originally started in May of 1995. The ladies who started the guild wanted a place where they could come to be with friends and to have a great time while doing something they loved. Together they created a guild where people of many shapes and colors get together to do charity work as well as things for themselves.
What We Do
Together we create pieces for Ronald McDonald house, Florida Baptist Childrens' Home, Teddy bears for Salvation Army, Quilts for Project Linus, Baby shower for mothers-to-be in crisis, pillow cases for ConKerr Cancer, dresses for young girls in African villages, lap quilts for those in nursing homes and the VA hospital, and so much more.
We meet on the third Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church on Lake Hollingsworth from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
At our meetings, we enjoy listening to guest speakers talk about their style of quilting, sewing, and embellishing! Some guest speakers offer classes for the ladies to partake in. Previous speakers include Cindy Oravecz, Lanette Edens, Sarah Ann Smith, Gail Garber, Mary Lou Weidman, and so many more. Our guild also holds the annual quilt show complete with gift basket raffles, a Boutique, and ribbons!
